Type of Activity: I have been volunteering my time as a coordinator of a local organization called "Nuevos Horizontes”. I assisted with volunteer coordination of by placing them in three centers that are operated by the group. One of the shelters assists abused women and children and the others mainly children.

Year I volunteered: 2004

Duration: 7 Month

Recommendations: To volunteer there, people have to commit for minimum of six weeks mainly because it takes time until the children know you. Knowing Spanish is really recommended even basic Spanish could help improve communication with the locals. There are many Spanish schools that I can direct you to.
