Aid Without Borders is no longer in operation but their contribution to the Israeli international aid programs is still worth mentioning. AWB Offered long-term relief and developmental projects to residents of regions in distress to victims of natural disasters as well as tragedies of human origin and to victims of violent conflicts throughout the world. Providing assistance to all individuals in need regardless of background. The first and only Israeli organization advocating and acting in support of a global Ban on Landmines. Promote programs amongst youth in Angola and Kosovo aimed at preventing encounters with land mines in cooperation with UNICEF's Mines Action and Mines Awareness programs. Coordinate aid and rescue flights during the floods in Mozambique. Medical aid and training by medical experts in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania.

Israelis Provide Mine Awareness Programs in Kosovo

In late 1999 and into 2000, three former AWB volunteers continued their work in western Kosovo with the new British organization, Mines Awareness Trust (MAT). One of them, is currently still involved in Mine Awareness activities in Kosovo.

Medical Clinics and Medical Professional Training in the Albania
Albania, April - August 1999
During the Kosovo refugee crisis, AWB and AJJDC (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) jointly established and operated four medical clinics in the city of Elbasan and a fifth in the city of Librazhd, in southern Albania. In each clinic, foreign doctors and nurses worked side-by-side with Kosovar doctors and nurses, sharing experience and giving one-on-one tutoring and much needed training.
